The lawyer cited a series of text messages between Depp and his friend, actor Paul Bettany, from 2013, alleging that Depp assaulted Heard while inebriated.
Another communication discovered by Benjamin Rottenborn shows Depp threatening to burn and drown Heard’s body.
The text was purportedly sent around the time Depp and Heard flew from Boston to Los Angeles on a private plane.
