Robert Allen Iger, born February 10, 1951, is an American businessman who serves as the CEO of The Walt Disney Company as well as a member of its Board of Directors.
His parents are Mimi and Arthur L. Iger. His father, a World War II Navy veteran, was the executive vice president and general manager of Greenvale Marketing Corporation, as well as a professor of advertising and public relations; he also played the trumpet and was bipolar.
His mother worked at Boardman Junior High School in Oceanside. Joe, Arthur’s father (and Bob’s paternal grandfather), was Jerry Iger’s brother.
He grew up in Oceanside and attended Fulton Avenue School before attending Oceanside High School and graduating in 1969. Iger has always been interested in books.
