One of Hollywood’s most renowned magicians and founder of The Magic Castle, Milton “Milt” Larsen, has died. He was 92. The Academy of Magical Arts confirmed the news in a statement to NBC4.
It read in part: “It is with heavy hearts that the Academy of Magical Arts shares the sad news that Magic Castle founder Milt Larsen has passed away. For decades, he brought magic to so many lives and his legacy will continue to do so. We will miss him tremendously.”

Arlene Larsen has been married to his Milt Larsen for 33 years, miMissilt is an award-winning costume designer. and also a writer for Bob Barker’s iconic Ralph Edwards audience participation TV show Truth or Consequences (1956-1977).
Larsen also wrote the television series Malibu U (1967), as well as audience participation performances starring Vin Scully and Jim Nabors.
The book for the theatrical musical Victory Canteen, starring Patty Andrews of the Andrews Sisters, was written by Milt Larsen and partner Bobby Lauher. Robert B. Sherman and Richard M. Sherman, both prolific songwriters, wrote the songs.
