Whitney Houston’s net worth and who received her fortune following her death have been hotly debated topics since her passing.

Houston was born in Newark, New Jersey on August 9, 1963; her full name is Whitney Elizabeth Houston. Houston, known as “The Voice,” signed to her first record company at the age of 19 with the help of Clive Davis, the head of Arista Records, who would later become her mentor and close friend.

Who inherited Whitney Houston’s money and estate?

Her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, whom she had with her ex-husband Bobby Brown, received the entirety of Houston’s estate. According to USA Today, Houston created her will in 1993, following the birth of Bobbi Kristina, and updated it in April 2000 to ensure that Bobbi Kristina would receive the entirety of her wealth.

According to the tabloid, Bobbi Kristina received $2 million from Houston’s estate because she was just 19 years old when she passed away, while the remainder was placed in a trust fund until she reached 21.

In Houston’s will, Bobbi Kristina was to inherit a further sixth of the estate at age 25, followed by the remainder at age 30. She never reached the age of 25. On July 26, 2015, Bobbi Kristina passed away.

Following Bobbi Kristina Houston’s passing, her mother Cissy Houston, and her two brothers received her estate.

Although Cissy was designated as the executor of Houston’s will, she eventually relinquished the position and asked that Marion “Pat” Houston, Houston’s sister-in-law and manager, take sole administration of the estate.
