The estate of Aretha Franklin has finally settled with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). According to USA Today, the outstanding $7.8 million debt has been paid in full. This is a significant victory for Franklin’s four sons, who inherited her estate after her death in 2018.

Franklin was the victim of a criminal impersonation scheme that year. Another woman went by the stage name Aretha Franklin and performed in several Florida venues.
