According to an emotional message on Twitter following his passing, Shane was the third of O’Connor’s four children and the “light of her life.”
The Irish artist has also been married four times, beginning with her marriage to John Reynolds in 1987, following Reynolds’ production of O’Connor’s first album, The Lion and the Cobra.
O’Connor and Reynolds were married for four years and had one kid, Jake.
Despite the fact that the pair separated in 1991, Reynolds produced five of O’Connor’s studio albums and was her drummer on her 2013 world tour.
Roisin O’Connor was born in 1995 when the musician married Irish journalist John Waters, who has recently gained fame for his far-right campaigning on issues such as abortion, homosexual marriage, and Covid-19 legislation.
After a lengthy and tough custody struggle, O’Connor agreed to let Roisin live with Waters in Dublin.
Later, in 2001, she married British writer Nick Sommerlad, but the pair split in 2004 without having any children.
O’Connor had Shane with Irish musician Donal Lunny in 2004, shortly after divorcing Sommerlad.
Following Shane’s terrible death, O’Connor addressed Lunny in an emotional series of tweets, saying that Shane “adored” him and that she will always remember “how lovely” Lunny was to their son.
