In the rap community, certain disputes have persisted for so long that they have divided feuding musicians for years.
This is precisely what happened when Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Three 6 Mafia got into a physical brawl during their 2021 Verzuz showdown after feuding intermittently during the 1990s.
Who did Three 6 Mafia have beef with?
With the help of his nephew DJ Paul, Lord Infamous launched his musical career in the late 1980s. They released self-recorded recordings in their community, at their school, and in nearby shops. They were pretty well-known in the south Memphis region.
1992 saw the publication of their first cassette, Portrait of a Serial Killa.
“It wasn’t a real beef,” DJ Paul said of the tension between the two acts. “It was more of a misunderstanding because we were rapping about triple six, devil s–t, and tongue-twisting over slow beats.”
Paul continued by claiming that his group had been “doing that since 1989” and that Bone Thugs-N-Harmony adopting the same moniker bothered him.
“We didn’t know the ‘Faces of Death’ album because it was their underground stuff. Just like they probably didn’t know our underground stuff.”
