Who cut off Jamie Lannister’s right hand in ‘Game of Thrones’?

Locke, dubbed as his “best hunter”  by Roose Bolton, is sent to capture Jaime Lannister. He and his men quickly track down the Kingslayer and arrest him, along with his companion Brienne. Jaime tries to bribe him, but Locke refuses, fearing retaliation from Robb Stark.

Locke and his men attempt to rape Brienne en route to Harrenhal, but are persuaded otherwise by Jaime, who lies to Locke, convincing him that Brienne’s home of Tarth, also known as the “Sapphire Isle,” is named so due to an abundance of precious gemstones and that Selwyn Tarth would richly reward him for returning his only daughter alive and “unbesmirched.”

Nonetheless, this traumatic event in his past proved to be the character’s point of no return. Jaime becomes much more vulnerable and modest after that experience, and he begins to examine his entire life, including how he interacts with the rest of the world.

So, while Jaime Lannister’s most redeeming act came at a high cost, losing his hand was ultimately what helped save his soul.
