Aaron Carter’s popularity in the music industry has often drawn attention to his family, particularly his parents. Jane Spaulding and Robert “Bob” Carter welcomed their first son Nick Carter, a member of the Backstreet Boys, on January 28, 1980.
The former couple also had twins Aaron Carter and Angel, as well as daughters Leslie and Bobbie Jean. Robert, who sadly passed away in 2017, also had a daughter named Virginia “Ginger” Carter from a previous marriage.
Despite the fame and fortune that came with their children’s success, the Carters faced many challenges. Bob once shared with PEOPLE, “We’ve had some very tough times. There’s a lot of pitfalls to growing up in the public eye. The bottom line is that I love my son very much. It’s important that he knows that I will do anything for him.”
The family appeared on a reality show called House of Carters in 2006, showcasing their dynamics and relationships to the world. Tragedy struck the family in 2012 when Leslie Carter was found lifeless at Bob’s home due to addiction issues. More heartbreak followed in 2022 when Aaron passed away from a drug overdose, according to police.
Aaron’s mother, Jane, believes there may be more to his death than just an overdose and has expressed concerns about the lack of a proper investigation. Jane and Bob divorced in 2004, and in 2017, Bob passed away at the age of 65, leaving behind five surviving children.
Just a year after Aaron’s death, the family faced another devastating loss when BJ Carter was found dead at the age of 41 due to a mix of fentanyl and methamphetamine. Nick Carter, in a heartfelt Instagram post, reflected on the preciousness of life and the importance of cherishing time with loved ones.
The Carter family has been through unimaginable challenges and losses, but they continue to stay strong and honor the memories of those they have lost.
