Peak was born in Kampala, Uganda, the youngest child of a Canadian engineer and a Ugandan hairdresser. She went to boarding school, competed in swimming, and went on trips with her father when she was young. In 2012, her family moved to Canada, living in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, where Peak enrolled in Terry Fox Secondary, a public school.
Peak was certain she would choose to become a doctor. But while she sat quietly watching Disney Channel shows like That’s So Raven, she realized she was daydreaming of a career in acting.
In 2020, she was given her first important TV role as part of the series Home Before Dark, which only served to further solidify her status as a rising star. Whitney was unveiled as one of Chanel’s US Brand Ambassadors in March 2021.
