Mark Capps, an American sound engineer and music producer from Nashville, was born on December 14, 1968, and he passed away on January 5, 2023. For engineering Jimmy Sturr & His Orchestra recordings in 2005, 2006, and 2007, he received a share of the Grammy Award for Best Polka Album.
Capps came from a prominent Nashville musical family. Jimmy Capps, the guitarist for the Grand Ole Opry house band, was his father. During his career, he collaborated with performers in the pop, gospel, and country genres.

Sturr’s orchestra is in the Top Ten List of All-Time Grammy Award Winners, and he has received more Grammy nominations than anybody else in musical polka history.
