Jeremiah Martin-Green was an American drummer who played with the band from 1993 to March 2003 and again from May 2004 till his death in December 2022. He was born on March 4, 1977. He was also one of the original members of the independent rock group Modest Mouse.
Jeremiah Martin-Green was born in Oahu, Hawaii, while his father was serving in the military. He was raised in the sleepy Washington town of Moxee, which is near Yakima. The Seattle region was the new home for his family in 1989. His elder brother’s name was Adam. His alcoholic father mistreated Green, but he finally admitted remorse and made amends.
When Green was a senior in high school, he started touring and recording. Green participated with the groups Satisfact on K Records, Red Stars Theory on Touch and Go Records, and Peeved on Distressed Records in the middle of the 1990s. Green performed with Psychic Emperor, the Vells, and another group of musicians. Both bands performed in Seattle and other Northwest cities.
Only a few days after Modest Mouse revealed that original drummer Jeremiah Green had been stricken with cancer, the band broke up. Jeremiah Green went away at the age of 45.
