Fernandinho’s contract is up in three months after he signed a new one-year contract last year. He has only appeared 13 times in the Premier League this season.
He has worn the captain’s armband in each of his five starts, and he will continue to be a key role for Guardiola as City fight for numerous titles.
Fernandinho won four Premier League championships, one FA Cup, and six League Cups in his career, which spanned over 250 appearances.
