Producer of movies and television programs Edyth “Edie” Landau passed away on Saturday at the age of 95.
The Deadly Game, Hopscotch, and Long Day’s Journey Into Night were all created by the Pennsylvania native.
Her son Jon Landau, 62, also became a producer. He is renowned for having worked on the Titanic and Avatar movies, each of which made over $2 billion at the box office. He is presently producing Avatar 2.
On Tuesday, Jon shared two photos of himself and Edie on Instagram to mourn his mother and confirm her passing.
Incredible years since ’95. My mother and I are in the top photo, taken when I was a year old, and in the bottom photo, taken one week before she passed away. Thank you Edie for everything you’ve taught me, for always being a good role model, and for all the love you’ve shown me, Jon said in the post.
“You are eternally in our hearts.” He continued, “Edie Landau: July 15, 1927 – December 24, 2022.”
According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Edie passed away ‘peacefully’ at her home in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Century City from natural causes.
