The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission seized and imprisoned controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye alias Bobrisky for naira misuse, note spraying, and currency mutilation.
Bobrisky, who has been entangled in various incidents in recent weeks, was arrested in Lagos on Wednesday night and is being imprisoned at the EFCC’s Lagos Command.
In a telephone contact with our correspondent on Thursday, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed that Bobrisky will face charges in court.
Oyewale stated, “Bobrisky is with us.” He was captured in Lagos yesterday night and is now at our command. We apprehended him for allegedly abusing naira notes, spraying nara notes, and mutilating cash, among other things.
“We are really serious about recovering the value of the naira. Although our investigation is still underway, he will undoubtedly be prosecuted in court shortly.”
