American political strategist, chef, and newscaster Samuel David Kass served as President Barack Obama’s senior policy advisor for nutrition policy while working as an assistant chef at the White House. He also served as the Let’s Move!
Program’s executive director under Michelle Obama. Kass was hired by NBC News as a senior food analyst on July 29, 2015. On all NBC News platforms, she will be in charge of reporting on topics like policy, food trends, and healthy eating.
Where is Sam Kass now?
For public appearances, Kass is now represented by the Washington Speakers Bureau. According to The Bureau, Kass is allegedly “working on two volumes about the future and influence of food, one of which will be in the form of a cookbook, due for release in 2017.”
According to the journal, he also “offers fresh and enlightening views as he investigates the latest trends in health, wellness, and the future of consumerism.”
The James Beard Foundation presented Kass with its Leadership Award for 2015 in October of that year “for his work toward national food-policy initiatives that focus on sustainable and healthy ingredients, as well as efforts to raise awareness of childhood obesity, hunger, and nutrition challenges.”
