Nathan Colbert Jr. mostly known as Nate Colbert was an American professional baseball player and coach. Nate was born on April 9, 1946, in St. Louis Missouri.

He was signed by his hometown St. Louis Cardinals as an amateur free agent in 1964, however, there was no MLB draft until 1965. This allowed him to sign with the team of his choice, declining 16 major league bonus offers and 30 college scholarships to sign with St. Louis.

Nate Colbert died on Thursday, January 5, 2023. As of the time of his death, he was aged 74. The family is yet to provided the public with arrangements for her burial.

Diving a bit into his career, he played in Major League Baseball as a first baseman from 1966 to 1976, most prominently as a member of the newly formed San Diego Padres expansion team. His best day in the majors was August 1, 1972, when he hit five home runs. He was one of two players to have done so.

Nate was a three-time All-Star player who was averaged 30 home runs and 85 runs batted in (RBIs) as a member of the Padres for five consecutive seasons from 1969 to 1973.

Nate was a hitting instructor for the Padres during spring training. He also served as a hitting coach and manager in the minor leagues, after his playing career. He also became an ordained minister working with disadvantaged youths.
