Melissa Lucion has become a famous woman in the history books of the American judicial process.
Initially, Melissa Lucion was going to become the first woman of Hispanic descent to be sentenced to death in Texas.
Today, The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has granted her a stay of execution which means the incoming execution is scheduled for April 27th, 2022. Her case will be sent back to the trial court to have a look at the new evidence.

Addressing the court after the new turn of events, Melissa Lucion said, “I thank God for my life. I have always trusted in Him,” Lucio said in a statement shared by her legal team. “I am grateful the Court has given me the chance to live and prove my innocence. Mariah is in my heart today and always.”
