Ed is of Italian heritage and was a former sales manager for a country radio station. Carla has experience in marketing for a sponsorship firm and Thomas Nelson Bible publishing.
When Ballerini was three years old, she began taking dancing lessons at Premiere Dance School in Seymour, Tennessee and stopped 10 years later.
She participated in both the school and church choirs. At age 12, she composed her first song for her mother.
Three years later, she relocated to Nashville, Tennessee. She completed her high school education at Central High School in Knoxville, Tennessee; Centennial High School in Franklin, Tennessee; and two years at Lipscomb University before deciding to pursue a career in music.
