Born in South Korea on November 22, 1978, Karen Lee Orzolek is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. She sings lead for the independent rock group Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
She received her diplomas from the Dwight-Englewood School and the Elisabeth Morrow School. She attended Oberlin College before moving to the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
O is renowned as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ lead singer. She is well known for her sense of style and frequently dons showy clothes created by her pal and stylist Christian Joy.
She rose to fame early in the band’s career for her outlandish antics on stage. In 2000, they played their very first show as the White Stripes’ opener.
O inadvertently danced off the stage at The Metro in Sydney during a sideshow for the 2003 Livid Festival tour, and he was grudgingly brought to the hospital.
