Henry Ruggs is an American professional football player who has played for Las Vegas Raiders in the NFL.
Henry Ruggs left Alabama’s real senior year in January 2020 and was declared eligible for the 2020 NFL Draft. Due to Ruggs’ stellar record, the Los Vegas Raiders selected him in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Henry Ruggs was selected first overall at wide receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft. On the Raiders’ draft board for the 2020 NFL Draft, he was the 12th pick. Henry Ruggs also joined the Three Square in April 2020 and quickly rose to the position of the best wide receiver in the group.
Henry Ruggs signed a fully guaranteed $4-year deal worth $16.67 million with the Las Vegas Raiders on July 21, 2020, along with a fifth-year team option.
Henry Ruggs made his NFL Pro debut against the Carolina Panthers in the season opener in September 2020.
Ruggs participated in 13 games during his first season and year as a professional NFL player, contributing 26 catches and 2 touchdowns. Ruggs had 24 receptions, 469 receiving yards, and two touchdowns in seven games in the 2021 season. He gained notoriety on the team as a result.
In his two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, Ruggs played in 20 games and amassed 1,197 all-purpose yards in addition to four touchdowns. On November 2, 2021, the Raiders released him following allegations of drunk driving (DUI) that resulted in a fatality.
