Where is AOC today?

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, popularly known as AOC, has been making headlines as she seeks a fourth congressional term in office. The US Representative for New York’s 14th congressional district began her campaign for reelection in June 2024 and emerged victorious in the Democratic Primary against Marty Dolan.

One of the significant moves that AOC made in July of the same year was to file articles of impeachment against Supreme Court justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas. The reason behind this bold move was the justices’ failure to disclose gifts they had received while serving on the court. AOC stated, “Justice Thomas and Alito’s repeated failure over decades to disclose that they received millions of dollars in gifts from individuals with business before the court is explicitly against the law.”

This action by AOC has sparked discussions about the integrity of the Supreme Court and the implications it has on American democracy. AOC believes that the unchecked corruption crisis within the Supreme Court poses a threat to the rule of law and democracy in the United States.

However, AOC’s journey in politics has not been without controversy. In July 2022, she, along with several other politicians, was arrested during a protest in Washington, DC, regarding the SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. The arrests were made on charges of crowding, obstruction, and incommoding.

Despite facing challenges and obstacles, AOC remains determined to continue serving her constituents and fighting for what she believes in. Since her initial election to the US Congress in 2018, AOC has been a prominent figure in American politics, advocating for progressive policies and reforms.

As she seeks a fourth term in office, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez remains a polarizing and influential figure in US politics, with her actions and decisions continuing to shape the national conversation on key issues.
