Bryan Johnson (born August 22, 1977) is a businessman, venture capitalist, writer, and novelist from the United States. He is the founder and CEO of Kernel, a startup that monitors and records brain activity, as well as OS Fund, a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage science and technology firms.
He was also the founder, chairman, and CEO of Braintree, a firm that specializes in mobile and web payment systems for e-commerce businesses. Braintree paid $26.2 million for Venmo in 2012, and the merged firm was purchased by PayPal for $800 million in 2013.
