Tom played five seasons for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and redshirted his true freshman year. He started all 13 of Wake Forest’s games while serving as the team’s starting center during his redshirt sophomore season, earning him honorable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) recognition. The following year, Tom started nine games at left tackle. In 2021, he received first-team All-ACC honors. The Green Bay Packers selected Tom in the fourth round (140th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. On May 26, 2022, he committed to his four-year rookie deal. On September 11, 2022, during a defeat to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1, he played in his first NFL game as a replacement at left guard for starter Jon Runyan Jr., who had suffered a concussion in the third quarter.
