Where did Winston Duke go to high school?

Actor Winston Duke is from Tobago and was born on November 15, 1986. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, he is best known for playing M’Baku. He appeared in Jordan Peele’s horror movie Us as well. Before being cast in Person of Interest, Duke began performing in plays for Yale Repertory Theatre and Portland Stage Company. He made friends with fellow actor Lupita Nyong’o at Yale, and they went on to work together in the films Black Panther and Us. In 2012, Duke traveled back to his native Trinidad and Tobago to take part in the theatrical production of An Echo in the Bone, which was directed by fellow Yale alumna Timmia Hearn Feldman and featured him alongside actress Taromi Lourdes Joseph.

Duke played M’Baku in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers Endgame. Duke appeared in Jordan Peele’s blockbuster horror film Us in 2019. Duke signed on to star in the upcoming Apple TV+ drama series Swagger in October 2019 but was replaced by O’Shea Jackson Jr. due to an on-set injury in February 2020. In March 2020, he co-starred in the Netflix thriller Spenser Confidential with Mark Wahlberg. In July 2021, it was announced that Duke would play Bruce Wayne/Batman in the podcast audio drama Batman Unburied. The podcast premiered in 2022. Duke will receive the Maverick Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival on October 24, 2021.

Duke was born in Argyle, Saint Paul, Trinidad, and Tobago, and moved to the United States when he was nine years old with his mother, Cora Pantin, and sister. In 2004, he graduated from Brighton High School in Rochester, New York. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in theatre from the University of Buffalo. He then went on to Yale School of Drama, where he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in acting in 2013. Watson Duke, a Tobagonian politician, and leader of the Progressive Democratic Patriots is his cousin.
