American novelist, writer, and academic Walter Seff Isaacson was born on May 20, 1952. He has served as Time’s editor, CNN’s chair and CEO, and the Aspen Institute, a nonpartisan policy research organization with headquarters in Washington, D.C.

He was up in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was a Rhodes Scholar who attended Pembroke College at Oxford and Harvard University.

Isaacson served as the Signet Society’s president, was a contributor to the Harvard Lampoon, and lived at Lowell House while attending Harvard. Later, he studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) at Pembroke College in Oxford while a Rhodes scholar, earning a First-Class Honours degree.
