He set a school record with an average of 47.6 yards per punt on 56 attempts, earning third-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors (ACC). As a redshirt senior, he was selected to the first team of the ACC.
In the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Gill. Gill was fined for using a towel to clean the field during a game on September 11, 2022, against the San Francisco 49ers.
