Tom Kennedy, an American football wide receiver with the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL), was a professional lacrosse player before entering the NFL. He was born on July 29, 1996. At Bryant, he played college football. The 26 years old plays football with the likes of Jamaal Williams, and Nate Sudfeld amongst others.
The Boston Cannons selected Kennedy in the third round of the Major League Lacrosse Draft in 2018. Before departing to play football at Bryant as a graduate student, he participated in six games for the team during the 2018 campaign.
Following his participation in a rookie minicamp, Kennedy signed with the Detroit Lions on May 12, 2019, as an undrafted free agent. He was released on August 31, 2019, as a result of the final roster cuts made at the conclusion of training camp, but the next day he was re-signed to the team’s practice squad.
