As a true freshman in 2018, Marshall participated in 13 games for LSU, making one start. Additionally, he caught 12 passes for 192 yards. When he returned in 2019, he was one of LSU’s top three receivers along with Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase.

He scored 13 touchdowns despite missing three games due to injury, including two against Georgia in the SEC Championship, two against Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl, and one against Clemson in the victory at the College Football Championship.
