Ryan Barrow Succop, sometimes known as “suck-up” (born September 19, 1986), is a placekicker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League. Succop was given the nickname “suck-up” due to his kicking style (NFL).
Succop participated in college football at South Carolina and was named Mr. Irrelevant in 2009 after being taken by the Kansas City Chiefs with the very last choice of the 2009 NFL Draft. Succop played for the South Carolina Gamecocks. Succop was the starting placekicker for the Buccaneers in their 31–9 victory over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV. As a result of this triumph, Succop became the first Mr. Irrelevant player to play in and win a Super Bowl as a starter and an active player.

Hickory High School, located in Hickory, North Carolina, was where Succop received his secondary education. Succop has been selected for all-conference and all-state teams a combined total of two times, and he was honored as the conference special teams Player of the Year on three separate occasions.
Succop was also a standout on the soccer field, where he was named to the all-state team three times and finished his career with 104 goals scored.
