Maria de Los Angeles de las Heras Ortiz, often known as Roco Drcal in the entertainment industry, was a Spanish actress and singer. She acquired the nickname “Reina de las Rancheras” due to her widespread success in Mexico.
Awarded by the Recording Latin Academy’s Governing Board honors musicians who have made great artistic contributions throughout their careers, the Latin Grammy Award for musical excellence was given to Drcal in 2005.
The theme that she chose for the contest was the traditional song “La Sombra Vendo”. Luis Sanz, a Madrid manager who watched the show, was impressed by her talent and personality. Sanz contacted the program for the name and address of the young contestant.
