Rauw Alejandro has received numerous honors. A Latin Grammy Award, a Latin American Music Award, and an MTV Millennial Award are among the honors. He has also received a Grammy nomination.

He comes from a family of musicians, his dad, guitarist Ral Ocasio, and his mother, backing vocalist Mara Nelly Ruiz, introduced him to Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and Chris Brown, among others.

As a child, Alejandro participated in school talent shows because he enjoys dancing. His elementary and High schools, however, are not documented.
