He furthered his education with a focus on his religious ministry and earned his Master of Divinity, Master of Philosophy, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Union Theological Seminary, a school affiliated with Columbia University.

He has served as a senior preacher at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia since 2005, fulfilling his dreams of becoming a pastor in the same church his idol Martin Luther King Jr. preached.
