On June 11, 1999, Olakunle Fatukasi, a linebacker for the National Football League’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was born. He participated in collegiate football at Rutgers.
Fatukasi committed to play at Rutgers in 2016 as a three-star recruit for the 2017 class. He took part in each of Rutgers’ twelve games during his first campaign. In 2018, he participated in eleven games and made twenty tackles while playing linebacker and on special teams. In 2019, he took part in each of Rutgers’ 12 games, starting at weak-side linebacker in ten of them. For 2020, Greg Schiano’s first competitive season, Fatukasi was named team captain. He started each of his nine games, and he topped the Big Ten in tackles.
During the course of the season, he was once named the Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
As an undrafted free agent, Fatukasi agreed to a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on May 13, 2022. He was a member of the Buccaneers’ initial 53-man roster after training camp.
