On March 21, 1995, Nicholas Clayton Mullens, a quarterback with the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League, was born. He played collegiate football with the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, breaking Brett Favre’s single-season records for passing yards (4,476) and touchdowns (38). He was a member of the San Francisco 49ers from 2017 to 2020. Mullens also played for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mullens was born to Suzanne and Mark Mullens in Little Rock, Arkansas, on March 21, 1995. He was raised in Hoover, Alabama, a district of Birmingham. He is the great-grandson of Ernie Tabor, a 1950s Philadelphia Phillies minor-league pitcher. Additionally, he made a living by pitching in the lower leagues.

Mullens graduated from Spain Park High School. Mullens participated in football at Spain Park and finally earned the starting quarterback job there. During his senior year of football in 2012, Mullens threw for 3,649 yards and 40 touchdowns while only throwing seven interceptions, earning him the honor of Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Alabama. With 40 passing touchdowns and 8,605 career passing yards, he concluded his high school career seventh in AHSAA history.
