Michelle Rodriguez was born on July 12, 1978, in San Antonio, Texas, to Carmen Milady Rodriguez and Rafael Rodriguez. Her mother, is of Dominican descent, while her father, who is of Puerto Rican descent, served in the U.S. Army.
When she was eight years old, she moved to the Dominican Republic with her mother and lived there till she was 11 years old. After, she relocated to Puerto Rico and stayed there till she was 17 when she finally moved back to the states and settled in Jersey City, New Jersey.
There, she attended William L. Dickinson High School, but later dropped out and earned her GED. However, before this, she was expelled from a total of five schools.
After she got her GED, she enrolled at business school for a while but quit to pursue to a career in acting.
