“The Money Badger” Michael Badgley, a placekicker for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League, was born on July 28, 1995. (NFL). He was a University of Miami football player in college, and the Colts signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He has also suited up for the Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Chargers, and Indianapolis Colts.

Badgley, who was reared in Summit, New Jersey by his parents Chris and Leanne, played football, hockey, and lacrosse while a student at Summit High School. In every sport he participated in during his time in high school, Badgley earned at least one state championship, including group NJSIAA state lacrosse titles in 2010 and 2011, and a NJSIAA state hockey title at the Prudential Center in 2012. Prior to being persuaded by a coach that he could compete at the Division I level in football, Badgley had intended to play collegiate lacrosse and follow in the footsteps of his older brother. Peter Badgley, Michael’s older brother, played goaltender for Providence College in the Big East Conference in the past and was named first-team and Big East Goalie of the year 2015 in lacrosse.
