Matthew Phillip Prater, a placekicker for the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals, was born on August 10, 1984. (NFL). He is regarded as one of the best long-distance kickers in NFL history, and he currently holds the NFL record for most 50+ yard field goals in a career. From 2013 to 2021, he held the NFL record for the longest field goal (64 yards).’

He was initially signed by the Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2006 and played college football for UCF. After serving a suspension for breaching the NFL’s substance abuse policy, he was released by the Denver Broncos. Prater established NFL records for consecutive – goal conversions of 50+ yards (14 field goals) and 55+ yards with the Lions in the 2016 and 2017 seasons (seven field goals)

Mathew Prater’s High School

Prater played high school football for the Wildcats and attended Estero High School in Estero, Florida. He made 14 field goals, including one of 49 yards, and 56 of 58 extra point tries. Prater successfully touched back 84% of kickoffs he attempted in the end zone. He received honors such as First-Team All-Conference, Second-Team All-State, and All-Southwest Florida.
