Liz Truss is a politician from the United Kingdom. Truss was born in Oxford, England, on July 26, 1975, to parents John Kenneth Truss and Priscilla Mary Truss.

Her family moved to Scotland when she was four years old.

Truss campaigned for the safe Labour Hemsworth seat in 2001 and was elected to the marginal Calder Valley constituency in 2005, replacing a candidate who was disqualified because of an affair.

In 2006, she was elected to Greenwich Council. She has served as Foreign Secretary since 2021 and Minister for Women and Equalities since 2019.
