Kirk Daniel Cousins (born August 19, 1988) is a National Football League quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings (NFL). He attended Michigan State before being taken in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins as a backup to fellow rookie Robert Griffin III.
Cousins participated in a few games over his first three seasons before taking over as the team’s starter after Griffin went down with an injury in 2015. Cousins established multiple team records during his time with the Redskins and was chosen to the 2017 Pro Bowl.
After signing franchise tags for two years and failing to reach a long-term agreement with the organization, Cousins signed a fully guaranteed three-year, US$84 million contract with the Vikings as a free agent in 2018. With at least 1,500 throw attempts, he has the third-best career completion % and the eighth-best regular-season passer rating in NFL history.
Where did Kirk Cousins go to high school?
After relocating to West Michigan, Kirk and his family enrolled in Holland Christian Schools, where he excelled in three sports and helped the football team reach its first-ever state playoff berth.
