American football cornerback Kelvin Joseph Jr., born November 11, 1999, plays for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Cowboys in the 2021 NFL Draft’s second round. He participated in collegiate football at Kentucky and LSU.
Joseph was raised in Louisiana’s Baton Rouge and went to Scotlandville Magnet High School. He recorded 67 tackles, 3 interceptions (2 of which were returned for touchdowns), and 12 pass breakups as a junior, helping the team win the 5A state championship. He was named All-District, Co-Defensive MVP of District 4-5A, All-Metro, and Class 5A All-State.
Joseph had 113 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and three interceptions as a senior. He participated in the All-American Bowl and was chosen Class 5A All-State. Throughout his high school career, he scored a total of 13 touchdowns on punts, kickoffs, and interception returns. He was a teammate of Javonte Smart’s and practiced basketball as well.
In spite of receiving offers from Alabama, Florida State, Auburn, and Florida, Joseph decided to play collegiate football for LSU.
