KaVontae Turpin

KaVontae Turpin, a National Football League wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, was born on August 2, 1996. He played collegiate football at TCU before joining the second iteration of the New Jersey Generals for the 2022 USFL season.

Turpin was named USFL MVP on June 22, 2022. Turpin played for the Polish Wroclaw Panthers in the European League of Football in 2021.

Turpin earned a football scholarship from Texas Christian University. As a true freshman, he made five of his 13 starts. He was named Big 12 Co-Offensive Player of the Week on October 5 after recording a career-high six receptions for 138 yards and four receiving touchdowns in the Horned Frogs’ 50-7 victory over the University of Texas.

The four touchdown receptions set a Big 12 freshman record. He had a neck and shoulder injury in the seventh game against Iowa State University, forcing him to exit the game early.

Where did KaVontae Turpin go to high school?

Turpin attended Neville High School in his hometown of Monroe, Louisiana. As a senior, he had 1,928 all-purpose yards, including 904 rushing yards, 724 receiving yards, and 29 touchdowns. All-State, All-NELA Big School, and All-NELA Offensive Player of the Year honors were bestowed upon him.

He was a three-star recruit and the No. 12 talent in Louisiana. Turpin picked TCU over another scholarship offer from Texas Tech on January 25, 2015.

He averaged 12.9 points per game while playing guard for the varsity basketball team between his junior and senior years.
