Kate Garry Hudson, an American actress, and businesswoman was born on April 19, 1979.

Hudson was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Oscar-winning actress Goldie Hawn and actor, comedian, and musician Bill Hudson.

Her mother and her mother’s longtime lover, actor Kurt Russell, reared her and her older brother, actor Oliver Hudson, in Snowmass, Colorado, and Pacific Palisades, California, after her parents divorced when she was 18 months old.

Hudson’s paternal grandmother was Italian, while her maternal grandmother was Jewish and from Hungary. The rest of her family speaks a mix of English and German. She was raised Jewish and practices Buddhism, just like her mother.

Russell is Hudson’s father, according to Hudson, who also claimed that her real father “doesn’t know me from a hole in the wall.” Hudson spoke to her mother as “the woman I’ve learned the most from, who I look up to, who has managed her life in a way that I can look up to.”

Wyatt Russell, from her mother’s marriage to Kurt Russell, and Emily and Zachary Hudson, from her biological father’s second marriage to actress Cindy Williams, are two of her four half-siblings.
