As a senior, he made 11 starts and tied for the team lead in pass breakups with seven.
He lettered in both football and track when a student at Buford High School in Georgia. As a sophomore, he led the football team to a state championship. Blackwell, who will graduate from Duke with two degrees—his bachelor’s in public policy in May 2020 and his master’s in management studies in December 2021—will have turned 23 in April.
