On April 5, 1999, Josh Blackwell, a cornerback with the Chicago Bears of the National Football League, was born. He participated in collegiate football at Duke.

After going undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, Blackwell was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent. He was discharged as a result of the most recent roster modifications on August 30.

The Chicago Bears claimed Blackwell off waivers on August 31, 2022.

Blackwell went to Buford High School. Josh Blackwell, who joined the Eagles on May 6, 2022, as a rookie free agent, has been re-signed. The 5-foot-11, 183-pound CB recorded 96 tackles, 20 pass breakups, and 25 punt returns for 230 yards over the course of his 37 games at Duke. As a senior, he made 11 starts and tied for the team lead in pass breakups with seven.

He lettered in both football and track when a student at Buford High School in Georgia. As a sophomore, he led the football team to a state championship. Blackwell, who will graduate from Duke with two degrees—his bachelor’s in public policy in May 2020 and his master’s in management studies in December 2021—will have turned 23 in April.
