Outside linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League, Jesse Shimba Luketa was born in Canada on January 15, 1999. (NFL). At Penn State, he played collegiate football.
Luketa spent the most of his rookie season playing on special teams. As a sophomore, he had greater playing time and recorded 24 tackles along with four passes intercepted. Luketa finished the season in second place on the team with 59 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a fumble recovery, and three passes broken up. He was chosen as the team captain moving into his junior season. As a senior, Luketa split his time between linebacker and defensive end, earning third-team All-Big Ten Conference honors. He announced his intention to enter the 2022 NFL Draft after the season ended.

Luketa was raised in Ottawa’s Heron Gate neighborhood after being born in Edmonton, Alberta. His mother, who emigrated to Canada from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, reared him as a single parent. Luketa attended Mercyhurst Preparatory School in Erie, Pennsylvania, for his final three years of high school when he was 14 years old. Out of more than 40 scholarship offers, Luketa, a four-star recruit, chose Penn State to play collegiate football.
