Jane McNeill-Balter, better known as Jane McNeill, is an American stage, film, and television actor best known for her recurring role as Patricia in the second season of The Walking Dead.

McNeill grew raised in Whiteville, North Carolina, in Columbus County. John McNeill and Margaret Powell McNeill are her parents. McNeill first became interested in theater and performance while he was in sixth grade.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, but she began studying theater during her sophomore year.

McNeill returned to school and graduated from DePaul University with a master’s degree in education. She taught English and acting in the Chicago area until 1999 when she returned to North Carolina.

She interned at the Arkansas Repertory Theater in Little Rock after graduating and attended the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in Connecticut.
