Jake Picking is an American actor who was born on March 2, 1991, in Germany. Rock Hudson is his most well-known character in Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series Hollywood (2020).

He also received praise for his roles as Maverick in Top Gun and Sean Collier in Patriots Day (2016). In the Showtime drama The First Lady from 2022, he portrayed the young Gerald Ford.

Picking went to New York University and The Governor’s Academy. After a year, Jake Picking left business school since acting and student films piqued his attention more. Before beginning his acting career, Picking made an NHL commercial appearance as an ice hockey player.

Picking took acting classes from Carolyn Pickman, a casting agent who had worked with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, after being urged to try acting by his high school math instructor. After finally starting to go to Boston auditions, Picking made his feature film debut in 2013 with a part in the family film The Way, Way Back starring Steve Carell.
