Enrique Roberto “Henry” Cuellar, a politician and attorney from the United States, was born on September 19, 1955. He has represented Texas’s 28th congressional district since 2005. He is a Democratic Party supporter. From the Rio Grande to the suburbs of San Antonio, his district is comprised.

Cuellar is the most recent Democrat to have held a statewide office in Texas as of 2022. He spent 14 years in the Texas House of Representatives from 1987 to 2001 and also served briefly as the state’s secretary of state in 2001.

Cuellar went to Buenos Aires Elementary School, where he honed his reading skills, and later graduated from J. W. Nixon High School in 1973. He graduated from Laredo Community College, formerly Laredo Junior College, with an associate of arts degree. He later taught government at the institution.

He continued his education at the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in foreign service upon completion. He also holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas in Austin, a JD from the University of Texas School of Law, and a Master of Arts in international trade from Texas A&M International University.
