Greg Joseph, a South African-born professional American football placekicker for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League, was born on August 4, 1994.
Joseph, 28, emigrated to Florida in 2001 with his family after being born in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He attended American Heritage School in Delray Beach and Donna Klein Jewish Academy in Boca Raton, where he participated in football and soccer.
College
The Florida Atlantic University was where he played college football.
In 2018, he played for the Cleveland Browns in his NFL debut.
He has also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers, and Miami Dolphins.
After joining the football team on a whim and redshirting his first year, Joseph spent five years at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton.
He earned a degree in exercise science and health promotion there in 2017. He graduated as the Owls’ all-time leader in field goals attempted, made, and points (336), PATs (points after touchdowns), and points scored (165 in 170 tries).
In addition, he established single-game records for PATs, field goals, points scored through kicking, and the Owls’ longest field goal at the university (54 yards).
He was working at FAU to complete his MBA as of February 2019.
