Fred Armisen is a musician and actor. He is known for his being one of the creators and stars of the comedy series Portlandia.
Where did Fred Armisen go to college and high school?
He attended high school in his neighborhood Valley Stream in the state of New York. He began playing drums with his high school friends and soon formed a band with some of them.
He also became friends with Jim Breuer whom he will later go on and work with on Saturday Night Live.
Did Fred Armisen go to film school?
After high school, Fred enrolled at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. His high school band did not last long after. Soon though, Armisen decided to drop out of the Visual arts school to pursue his music career full-time as a rock drummer.
He relocated to Chicago where he joined the punk rock band Trenchmouth as a drummer. After some time touring various cities with the band, he moved to the Blue Man Group in the nineties where he got a role as a background drummer.
